Students and teaching staff will be recognised at Newham College’s annual Shining Stars Award Ceremony for their achievements across the academic year, and their contributions to college life.

On Thursday 29th June, Principal and Chief Executive; Di Gowland will welcome almost five hundred people to Newham College’s East Ham campus. Nominees, along with their friends and family, will join the College Governors, support staff and award sponsors in celebration of the fantastic progress made by the staff and students, since September 2016.

Guests will also be treated to a keynote speech by a VIP guest with a special connection to the area. Watch this space for an exciting announcement soon!

Money raised from award sponsorship goes to the College’s charity; the Learning Revolution Trust (LRT). The LRT is a charity that aims to remove the financial barriers to education faced by many people in East London. Last year’s awards saw Di Gowland present Martin Cumella, Chair of the LRT, a cheque for £50,050.

To date the LRT has provided bursaries to over 220 students. The help given so far has already had a huge impact on the prospects for many of those who have benefited and who are often facing severe disadvantages. For more information about the Trust, visit: www.learningrevolutiontrust.org.uk

The College has a suite of sponsorship opportunities available for businesses of all sizes. If you’re interested in supporting the LRT, contact Gina Burgess for more information about the packages and benefits available and to the sponsors.
